Yesterday I had a visit from a very special dog from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter.  Pamela is expecting puppies and wanted to celebrate with a dog maternity portrait session!

This was my first time photographing a pregnant dog. When I picked Pamela up at the shelter, I was surprised how mobile and full of energy she was for a dog that is so far along! She jumped up into the back of my SUV with no problem and rode patiently back to the studio.  Once we arrived, she jumped out and headed straight for the studio. She was very excited to have her portraits done!  In the studio, Pamela was as sweet as could be. As long as the treats kept coming, she was happy to sit and pose. She didn’t even mind dressing up as long as she got treats! After the session, Pamela thanked me with lots of sweet kisses!

Thankfully, one of the wonderful volunteers at the shelter took her home to foster, so Pamela will be able to have her puppies in a loving home. For updates on Pamela and her puppies, be sure to watch the Fairfax County Animal Shelter  on Facebook!
