Rescued Shitzu is Making a Wonderful Recovery! Fairfax Dog Photographer
When this little girl first approached a stranger in Reston, she was so matted that she was barely recognizable as a dog. Thankfully, the man who found her called the Animal Service Division of the Fairfax County Police and they came to get her. She had two pounds of matted hair covering her face and body as well as a skin infection and a very bad eye infection. Police do not believe the dog was a stray, as a veterinary evaluation showed no signs of fleas or ticks or any indications that she had been living outside for an extended period of time. They believe that perhaps she was abandoned or she got out and are looking for any information about the owner. Click here to see the story on Fox 5 DC News.
The Fairfax County Animal Shelter placed her in a wonderful foster home. Her foster mom named her “Bitty” because she was just a little bitty thing. In addition to proper medical care, Bitty is receiving lots of love and affection and is making a wonderful recovery!
Bitty was so much fun in the studio! She was well behaved and loved treats. Her foster mom says she is sweet and cuddly at home. She still has a little more weight to gain, but that should not be a problem with her appetite!
Bitty will be available for adoption soon from the Fairfax County Animal Shelter. For more information on Bitty or other animals available for adoption at the Fairfax County Animal Shelter, please visit the shelter page on Petango.
